Today I'd like to introduce Ms. Valentina (Val)!! She has made a huge impact on not only why Kiki's Haus was started but she's also a huge reason we've grown so quickly. I've been friends with Val's mom, Melissa, since long before Val was diagnosed. I braided Val's hair for the first time in the hospital before she actually lost it. I was determined to help any way I could. There are so many charities out there that help to provide wigs for kids but the problem is that's all they do. They send you a wig and wish you the best. That's where Kiki's Haus prides ourselves in being different. We are committed to every youth and young adult that comes into our charity. We even teach you how to apply and care for your wigs. Valentina did not like to wear wigs. They can be very uncomfortable and hot. She preferred braids. The second her hair was long enough, I began braiding in extensions every few weeks so she was comfortable, confident, and happy to return to school. We were just recently able to switch her out of braids and into longer hair extensions very similar to what her hair looked like before she lost it. We are committed to helping throughout the entire experience of hair loss as well as the awkward hair regrowth phase. Valentina has been so strong and amazing, I never see her without a smile and I'm so grateful to be part of this with her. Big thank you to Valentina and mama Melissa!! You guys have been such huge supporters and cheerleaders for Kiki's Haus! We wouldn't be where we are right now without y'all
